We are thrilled to feature M.C. Schmidt’s Sidewalk Chalk as part of our weekly feature series. As part of our weekly features, we are interested in learning more about our authors, and hope that their experiences will help to empower other writers. Please enjoy this brief Q&A with M.C.!
What is the first book that made you cry?
Charlotte's Web, for sure.
If you had to do something differently as a child or teenager to become a better writer as an adult, what would you do?
As a parent, I know this is bad advice. But, I'd tell my childhood self to be just a little less bookish, to experience adventure directly, and maybe get in a bit of trouble.
Does writing energize or exhaust you?
It varies day to day. But I think I've gotten pretty good at making myself do it, even when it isn't fun
